Conversely, Brant Page evaded the draft and fled to the surf rich Hawaiian Islands where he was unceasingly pursued and eventually arrested by the FBI.
 
While following the lives of these two surfers the film chronicles the impact of the Vietnam War on the surfing lifestyle. From the peaceful shores of Hawaii to the canopy jungles of Vietnam, BETWEEN THE LINES excavates the surfing cultures response to an extraordinary circumstance.

By focusing on fundamental skills like kite control & body position, My Session helps speed up the learning curve, & prevent bad habits - before they start.

The lesson plan includes discussion of some general characteristics of wind, like speed and direction. Then we compare different kites based on aspect ratio, de-power, relaunch, and safety. There is also a discussion on the general evolution of kite design over the history of the sport. After that we move on to kite control, first using a trainer kite to go over basic kite flying skills and kite positions, showing how each is linked to flying the larger, more powerful kites. This will give you the knowledge and flying skills required to get up and riding.

But before you can ride it you need to know how to rig it. Rigging may sound easy but pumping up and laying out your lines can get messy, fast. Then we coach you through both assisted and self-launching techniques. Then we wak you into the water for your first downwind bodydrag, followed by body dragging upwind. The next step is the waterstart. Once you are up and riding we go over basic stance, hand, and kite positions for all types of wind conditions. Then we show how to turn around on a twin-tip.

Somewhere along the way you are going to crash your kite, so we show you the basics of water relaunching. And finally, the lesson ends with assited landing and self-rescue.

One of motorsport’s longest-running and most famous events this year marks yet another milestone in its illustrious history.

In 2011, the Isle of Man TT, which first ran in 1907, celebrates 100 years of racing on the daunting Mountain course, the 37.7-mile track it transferred to in 1911.

2009 FIM World Superbike Review DvdAs another blistering season of World Superbike racing got underway, all eyes were on Ducati’s Nori Haga to deliver that long-awaited first championship title. However, US star Ben Spies was out to spoil the party in his debut season. Spies took his Yamaha R1 to a string of victories to ensure his battle with Haga would remain on a knife-edge as the pair left the rest of the field standing.

Follow Ryan Farquhar’s path to yet another victory in the Duke Road Race Rankings series, experience the new generation of Dunlop brothers keeping the family rivalry alive and witness some of the closest finishes in history – including a 0.001 second gap at the chequered flag! 

First up is the Cookstown 100, and what a curtain-raiser the County Tyrone meeting proved. From the off it was all about Farquhar versus Keith Amor on the big bikes and Michael against William in the two-stroke battle of the Dunlops. Exceptional footage, including plenty from on the bikes of Amor, Conor Cummins and John Burrows, brings you all the breathtaking highlights from six races. 

Next we travel to Tandragee for another five elbow-to-elbow contests. The battle lines are re-drawn as we enjoy fast and furious thrills from the 125s and 250s, the Superbikes, Supersports and Supertwins – with Farquhar, Amor and the Dunlops again in the thick of it. Multiple on-board camera angles with flying Scot Amor show you exactly how close the racing was! 

The Billown Circuit on the Isle of Man hosted the Southern 100, and laid on some of the tightest racing possible. With grids swollen by the likes of Ian Lougher, Guy Martin and Chris Palmer, the scene was set for spectacular action – and the cameras were there to capture it. You will be on the edge of your seat as the Supersport 600 is decided by just 0.047 of a second, a last corner lunge earns victory in the Senior Solo Founders and the unpredictable Solo Championship race goes right down to the wire. 

Our season review concludes at Dundrod with the Ulster Grand Prix. The International event attracted more stars, including Ian Hutchinson and Bruce Anstey, and produced nail-biting racing. Just tenths – and I one case thousandths – of a second made the difference as the fastest road race in the world lives up to it’s reputation. Once again, the cameras were there to capture all the spectacular action – including on-board footage which will have you leaping out of your seat.

Set to the original score written by Jon Swift, Todd Hannigan, Fernando Apodaca, and Machado (The Melali Sessions Band), the music complements the imagery of the synergy born from long-standing camaraderie. “When we premiered The Drifter across the country, the best part of the night was the live improvisation with the band to the surf bonus footage,” Machado says. “That inspired us to make another movie with the unreleased surf footage and record some music as the score.”
